The short version of bioregulator fits in a sentence. The long version — which is the one that helps — is below.

Chemically, the molecule consists of four amino acid residues joined by three peptide bonds, with a free N-terminal amino group and a free C-terminal carboxyl group. Its molecular formula is C14H22N4O9, and its monoisotopic mass is approximately 390 daltons. The acidic glutamate and aspartate side chains give the peptide a net negative charge near neutral pH, a property that shapes its chromatographic behaviour and solubility profile. No disulfide bridges or other post-translational modifications are present, so the primary sequence alone defines the structure.
Most experimental work has been carried out in cell culture and animal models. Several reports describe changes in telomerase activity and proliferation in cultured cells, while rodent studies have examined lifespan, melatonin rhythm and reproductive endpoints. Human data remain limited, and much of the published clinical material consists of small trials with incomplete reporting of methods and controls. Whether the cell and animal findings translate into measurable effects in people is an open question, and the mechanistic basis of the reported telomerase changes is not fully established.
Epitalon is a synthetic tetrapeptide with the amino acid sequence alanine-glutamate-aspartate-glycine, abbreviated Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly or AEDG. It was developed by the Russian researcher Vladimir Khavinson and colleagues during work on peptide bioregulators derived from the pineal gland. The compound is short enough to be produced by standard solid-phase peptide synthesis and is typically handled as a lyophilized white powder. Its small size distinguishes it from larger pineal peptides such as epithalamin, a complex extract from which the tetrapeptide was conceptually derived.
The four residues give epitalon a molecular formula of C14H22N4O9 and a molecular weight near 390.35 daltons. The presence of two acidic residues, glutamate and aspartate, makes the free peptide strongly acidic, while the alanine and glycine ends provide neutral, nonpolar character. This combination produces a molecule with substantial water solubility. Because there are no cysteine, methionine, or tryptophan residues, the peptide lacks the most common oxidation-sensitive side chains, which simplifies handling compared with many longer peptides.

Galloway was defeated at the 2015 general election. Naz Shah won a majority of 11,420 votes over him, reversing the majority of 10,000 votes he had gained at the by-election three years earlier. On 10 May 2015, Galloway announced an intention to challenge the result, alleging that false statements and malpractice related to postal votes during the campaign meant that the result of the election should be set aside, but did not do so. The Fawcett Society expressed concern that "the continued opposition of the unsuccessful Respect Party candidate George Galloway, to Shah's election is the culmination of a sexist electoral campaign by Galloway". In July 2015, Jeremy Corbyn said he thought "... the tactics he used against our candidate, were appalling. I was quite shocked; it was appalling." It emerged in January 2017 that Galloway's reimbursed expense claim for the rent of his constituency office in Bradford West has been forwarded by the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) to the Metropolitan Police, which was then at the early assessment stage.
Rapid contraction of fibers round the cnida may increase its internal pressure. The thread may be like a coiled spring that extends rapidly when released. In the case of Chironex (the "sea wasp"), chemical changes in the cnida's contents may cause them to expand rapidly by polymerization. Chemical changes in the liquid in the cnida make it a much more concentrated solution, so that osmotic pressure forces water in very rapidly to dilute it. This mechanism has been observed in nematocysts of the class Hydrozoa, sometimes producing pressures as high as 140 atmospheres, similar to that of scuba air tanks, and fully extending the thread in as little as 2 milliseconds (0.002 second). Cnidocytes can only fire once, and about 25% of a hydra's nematocysts are lost from its tentacles when capturing a brine shrimp. Used cnidocytes have to be replaced, which takes about 48 hours. To minimise wasteful firing, two types of stimulus are generally required to trigger cnidocytes: nearby sensory cells detect chemicals in the water, and their cilia respond to contact. This combination prevents them from firing at distant or non-living objects. Groups of cnidocytes are usually connected by nerves and, if one fires, the rest of the group requires a weaker minimum stimulus than the cells that fire first.

=== Toronto-area hotel expenses scandal === Between 2023 and 2026, Toronto MPP Stan Cho expensed $16,203 to the Ontario Legislature for hotel stays in Toronto, despite his residence being 5.9 kilometres from the Legislative Assembly. Through his office, Cho issued a comment, stating that "[w]hile these expenses meet the criteria for special circumstances as set out by the Legislative Guide for Member’s expenses, I will be personally reimbursing the legislature for any expense that does not meet the spirit of the policy," before later commenting that "I will be personally reimbursing the legislature for the entire amount of the expenses incurred". Cho faced criticism from the opposition, with New Democratic leader Marit Stiles noting that "[you] can get from Willowdale to Queen’s Park without even changing the subway train". Cho was also directed to repay the expenses by Premier Doug Ford, who told him "[you're] paying back every single penny — that’s not the way we operate, simple as that". He delivered his letter of resignation, effective immediately, to Premier Ford during the morning of July 17, 2026. Cho stated he will continue to serve as a Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) for Willowdale. Other PC MPPs also expensed Toronto hotel stays using the policy, which Ford announced plans to reform.
== Products and services == GeneDx offers genetic testing services with a primary focus on whole genome sequencing (WGS) and whole exome sequencing (WES). WGS provides a comprehensive analysis of an individual's entire genome, while WES focuses on protein-coding regions called exons, which contain a majority of known disease-related genetic variants. The company's tests are used in clinical diagnostics, research, and precision medicine by geneticists, genetic counselors, neonatologists, pediatric specialists, and pediatricians. GeneDx offers testing for conditions including rare diseases, autism spectrum disorders, epilepsy, neurodevelopmental disorders, cardiomyopathies, and inherited conditions affecting vision, the immune system, muscles, hearing, metabolism, neurology, and mitochondrial diseases. GeneDx also offers rapid sequencing options intended for critically ill pediatric and neonatal patients where timely results may influence acute medical management. GeneDx continues to develop genetic testing technologies and expand access to genomic information for clinical use in pediatric, adult, and newborn populations. Professional guidelines from organizations such as the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) support the use of exome or genome sequencing as first-line or early diagnostic tests in selected patient populations.

It is a synthetic tetrapeptide with the sequence alanine-glutamate-aspartate-glycine, often abbreviated AEDG. The molecule is linear and contains no modified residues, so it is fully described by its sequence.
The compound came out of work on epithalamin, a peptide preparation derived from pineal tissue, conducted largely in Russian laboratories. Later studies in other countries examined it mainly in cell cultures and animal models.
The tetrapeptide sequence is a synthetic construct rather than a described circulating peptide. It was derived by analogy to peptide fractions obtained from tissue extracts, not isolated from blood or tissue as such.
Epitalon is a synthetic tetrapeptide composed of four amino acids: alanine, glutamate, aspartate, and glycine. It is written as Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly. The free peptide has a molecular weight of about 390 daltons and is normally supplied as a lyophilized powder.
